In the surrounding area there are a lot of things to do such as Scubadiving with the Grays in Scubadive west; outdoor activites such as Bungee Jumping, Paint ball, Surfing, Sea Kayaking, and many more are just 2km away with the Youngs in Killary Adventure and also at Delphi Adventure Center. Horse riding along with walking and hiking are Irelands fastest growing outdoor activities and Leenane is an ideal location in which to base yourself for hikes like the Maumturks, Twelve Pins, Mueelrea, Ben Gorm, The Sheefry Hills and the Partry Mountains which all surround the the village on all sides.
